A New First Wearing a Tail in Public Starting a Furmeet

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

For the first time I wore my tail outside the usual convention scene. Ok I was starting a new furmeet. I wanted to tail up so other furs can find us. Instead of bothering putting my foxtail on in the mall parking lot, I decided to wear my tail the entire day while out visiting garage sales before and after the furrmeet. I got many laughs. This not unusual for me. I am known to go out in public sporting a Hello Kitty Backpack.

Speaking of furrmets, I took the intuitive to start a Westside Metro Furmeet at Washington Square mall. I only get one or two furs but it is a start. My reasons are some furs cannot make to the cross-town meets and the Local group PDX Furs is dying a slow death. The problem with PDX furs was drama caused by a lack of leadership and displine when dealing it instigators with in the fandom. The local furs seen splits with many younger aligning with the PDX snark group and older furs attending the Tuesday afternoon lunch every week. While unemployed, I attend the Tuesday group as a way to get away for a few hours. The problem with Snark group is it a bit too young for me and tend to be more in you face and immature when dealing with the public. The next meet tentatively set for 14 Aug and may look at a bring you own food picnic.

Furry Update

Monday, April 27th, 2009

I still looking for work it had been a quiet two weeks and no job yet. I admit I made a few mistakes like not sticking with one firm for a contact. I also am dealing with a medical issue so I need to hold on to what money I have. As a result I am unable to attend All Fur Fun this year. There is a slight chance if I can drum up enough eBay business.

The last few Furmeets were a pleasure. We here in Portland Oregon have a two furmeets an indoor one at Pioneer Place mall on the last Saturday of the month and a outdoor one when the weather is good on the second Sunday. The 28 March meet was interesting.  Kumoricon, the Portland Anime convention was using cosplayers for a promotion and they took up a part of the food court. For once we were not the weird dressed ones at the food court ;) .  Then again all we need was a few Star Wars types and we could have a little geek convention.

Please do keep me in your prayers, I can hope the doctors can find out what wrong with me.
